I'm making just a single New Year's resolution: I will be eating more; cooking more; enjoying good food more.
Possibly this will benefit my health; my mental health at the very least. On that theme, I've just read It Must've Been Something I Ate
by food critic and writer Jeffrey Steingarten. The book is a collection of his Vogue Magazine food columns. Many of them are hilarious. All of them made me salivate. I now understand (well, better
understand), how some people can read a cookbook cover to cover, just for fun.
I've also ordered The Professional Chef
by the CIA (Culinary Institute of America). Its reputed to be the best cooking textbook available. I'm sure I'll have more to say on that later.
